How many cups can I prepare from 1 bag/tin of your teas?
Gyokuro and Sencha
1 bag is usually 100g (3.5 ounces). 4g (1 level teaspoon) for 120 to 240cc (4 to 8 ounces depending on how strong you like your tea) of hot water. 25-40 cups can be made from one bag.
This wonderful tea usually comes in 30g (1.1 ounce tins). You should use 2g (1/2 level teaspoon) for 120 to 180cc (4 to 6 ounces) of hot water. 15 to 20 servings per 30g tin. If you use a chashaku (bamboo spoon) 1 heaping spoonful.
Gyokuro tea bags can be infused more than once. We recommend no more than two infusions per bag. There are no rules- make as many as you like.
Do not move the teabag back and forth during preparation (like you do with black tea). This will make the tea cloudy and a little bitter.
Simply let the bag sit for 2 minutes.
